PETER FLETCHER - CO FOUNDER

Peter spent nearly all of his career in consumer finance. Working initially with a U.S. moneyshop he rose to senior management positions before leaving to set up his own recruitment consultancy specialising in the same industry but expanding the client base to include banking, building society and insurance clients.

Along the way he was joint founder of a finance company specialising in the provision of credit facilities through football, rugby and cricket clubs to fans wishing to acquire season tickets, similarly to golf clubs, to facilitate payment of annual membership fees.  Then also in the health sector providing credit facilities for patients wishing to pay for elective surgery through most of the private hospital sector and then leisure finance providing for the payment of annual site fees and the purchase of lodge and static caravans for 4 out of the top 5 holiday park groups. At it’s peak the company was attracting over 70,000 new customers per annum. Having spent a number of years as Chairman, Peter moved to CEO and took the company from £30m of lending per annum to nearly £100 million with around 48 staff. Direct reports were Compliance, Finance, Operations, Marketing.

More recently Peter has been heavily involved in the purchase and sale of motorhomes and campervans, before meeting Wes and setting up Turas and acquiring the first Habcheck franchise. 

Peter was a Fellow of the Institute of Management, a qualified pilot, keen salmon and trout fly fisherman, loyal fan of a soccer club (to remain nameless!) and is married with two children. He gained his MBA from the University of Leeds. He is responsible for anything in Turas that doesn't involve a tool.

WES LINTON - CO FOUNDER

Wes achieved degrees in Mechanical & Motor Sport Engineering, after which he then travelled, lived and worked in many corners of the world putting what he had learnt into practice.  During this time, Wes installed manipulators in large industrial sites across the globe, which allowed him to develop his range of expertise in electrical and mechanical operations.

After starting to working on vehicles early in his teenage years, it lead to a career with over 20 years experience developing some of the worlds most advanced emergency vehicles.  This work involved advanced power, communication and stowage systems all within lightweight rugged structural composite bodies; all this knowledge and experience now feeds into Turas Adventure Vehicles. 

Wes rates some of his career highlights as having developed the trailer based mobile COVID test stations for the Department of Health during the pandemic and repurposing ex-military vehicles as off-road and armoured ambulances for the war in Ukraine. Throughout his career Wes has always held a passion for overland vehicle based travel and after meeting Peter, they set up Turas.   

Wes loves the simplicity and ruggedness of Land Rovers and has owned a few over the years, including one with a mouse living in the dashboard!  In his spare time he enjoys driving off road, watching rugby (as old injuries prevent play these days!) and he also loves to be by the coast.  Wes is married with two girls and family holidays often involve camping and enjoying the great outdoors.
